Christmas in Houston

After we left Gramps' and Grandma's house we went home and I finally got to sleep in my cozy bed. But when I woke up mommy and daddy told me we were going to Houston to see PaPaw and Grandma and my favorite (and only) cousin Damon and Aunt Erin. I was really really excited. We loaded up in the truck and I had fun playing with my new Elmo and Farmer. But I got bored and started to whine, so mommy and daddy decided it'd be a good time to turn my carseat around. Can you believe it, it was the best thing ever! The view was so cool, I could finally see where we were going, not just where we had been. Plus I could put my feet up on the backs of their seats. This was so awesome but it was a long ride and I got a little bit tired. Mommy snapped this picture of me catching some zzzz's before the excitement of my 2nd Christmas!

When we got there Aunt Erin had really missed me so she scouped me up and was going to help me open up some of my presents.

But before we started I heard some strange barking noises. PaPaw said that they had puppies! Look how cute they are! I wasn't sure what to think of them at first though, I've only seen big puppies like my monster dog Noah. These were so tiny.

I just had to touch one.

After that we started opening presents. Can you believe I got another Elmo! This Elmo is soft and cuddly, mommy likes putting her hand in it and making him tickle me.

Hey guys lets go play some football! Daddy said we could play after we finished opening presents.

My cousin Damon helped me open the rest up. I got lots of books, one of them was an Elmo too! More bath toys and look I'm all ready for deer season.

I got some farm animals but mommy said they'd have to wait until I was a bigger boy because I tend to put things in my mouth still and these had lots of little pieces.

But one of my favorite toys is my wooden shape sorter that Grandma got for me. It's just so much fun and I can play with it all day.

Mommy says that its a good toy because it helps me with my coordination, colors and shapes.
I just like it because its fun.

After all the presents were opened, we got the puppies out again.
He's so tiny, this is my size of a puppy dog.

Damon got a scooter for Christmas but he let me and my daddy play with it. This is so much fun, I can see why he wanted one.

I didn't want to get off so I made daddy push me around for a good 15 minutes.

After riding on the scooter daddy and Uncle Chad went outside to play catch. Well they were being silly and daddy fell into the pool trying to make a catch. Silly daddy don't you know its too cold to go swimming!

It was close to bedtime and Damon said I could sleep in his train tent with him if I wanted to. It was so neat, there were 2 ways to get in and out of it. We played hide and seek in it for awhile.

After a long day of fun, I got into my jammies and we got the puppies out to say good night to them.I didn't want to go to bed that night, Daddy and Uncle Chad were still up so I wanted to play with them. Daddy said I could stay up with them so Chad and I hung out on the couch, but I just couldn't help it and I fell asleep. I guess Uncle Chad was tired too 'cause so did he.

I had a fun time in Houston getting to see my PaPaw, Grandma, Aunt Erin, Uncle Chad, Uncle Boy and Damon. I miss them a lot so it was very nice of mommy and daddy to let me come down to see them. Best of all I got lots of fun toys from them. This was a great Christmas, I can't wait for next year!

Christmas Morning

Santa Claus was great this year. I got lots of fun goodies to be creative with. Plus I'm going to get to be a big boy and use the new potty he brought me. I got fun paint and bubbles for bath time and then crayons and markers and play-doh. Look at my spread!

There was so much that I didn't know what to play with first.

Mommy let me get some of the play-doh out and squesh it on the coffee table. Shhh just don't tell Uncle Brandon since it's his table.

Then I got to color and use what ever color I wanted! Best of all they were all mine and I didn't have to share the crayons with anybody else like at daycare.

After breakfast we got dressed and took one of my presents from mommy and daddy outside to play. Daddy showed me how to put the ball on the tee and then we lined up.

And swing! Wow look at it go!

I got the ball guys.

Then Grandma got the bat, oh no look out with that thing!

Ok who's up next?

After a little baseball I got my reliable old truck out and drove around for a bit.

And my favorite thing to do is swing!

Grandma had lots of leaves in her yard so we did what any kid loves to do and we played in the leaves. Plus when do I get free reign to throw things?

I got a little upset at one point 'cause daddy scared me, but grandma was there to give me a big hug.

After playing outside all day I was really tired so I took a nap and when I woke up I got to sit in my favorite spot. On my gramps' lap, we watched tv together until it was time to go home.

We spent all day at Gramps and Grandma's house and then drove home. It was lots of fun but boy was it tiring. I was happy to go home and sleep in my bed. Mommy said I needed to get my sleep because in the morning we were driving to Houston for a 2nd Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Its a bit late but better than never. Mommy's been really busy lately, I guess its something about me running around like a crazy man now that keeps her worn out. But I just can't help it. So here's a recap of the greatest Christmas ever!

Mommy and Gramps and Grandma have a tradition where they open up their presents from each other on Christmas Eve, I think I really like this tradition. This way I don't have to wait as long. Mommy says this tradition started even before she was a baby, this way the families all got to share special days without the chaos of driving to each house. Anyways so this year we went to Gramps' house and did Christmas Eve with them. It was lots of fun and I got tons of toys.

I got a really cool puzzle with safari animals, hurry up gramps I want to play with it. Did you know that a lion goes "roaaar!"
Next Grandma helped me open up my See'N Say Farmer. I wasn't sure what it was at first.

But then Aunt Julie (well technically not my Aunt yet but I'm hoping) showed me how it works. You point the arrow at an animal and then pull the lever down and it makes a noise.
It's so much fun.

I also got a present from my great grandpa, I've only seen him once when I was 3 months old so I don't remember much about him but boy he must know me well.

I wasn't sure what it was at first.
But after we got the paper off I knew just what to do. I grabbed my new dump truck and started pushing it all around.

I had to be patient while others opened their presents. Mommy and daddy were really happy, they got a new camera! So now they won't miss any of my crazy toddler shots. Just wait, I'm thinking up what I can get into next.

I decided climbing on the fireplace might be fun while I waited.

And then last of all came my final present. I was excited, it was a big box! What could it be?

Uh-uh could it be? Really Elmo in this box! I got an Elmo Live!

I had such a great Christmas eve that I didn't want to go to bed. I really racked up lots of toys and of course clothes but who really cares about those. Uncle Brandon got me a sandbox and I just couldn't wait 'til Christmas morning to go outside and play in it. I could only wait to see what Santa Claus brought me.

Turkey Time

It was my first turkey day that I actually got to participate in. Last year mommy and daddy only let me eat some sweet potato baby food. But this year I got to eat anything I wanted! And oh boy did I want lots of those yummy mashed potatoes!

Mommy sure did make a great looking feast. Can you believe I was only 4 lbs bigger than the turkey? That's crazy!

Mommy made turkey, MASHED POTATOES, sweet potatoes, creamed spinach, cranberry chutney, side salads and then grandma brought dressing, deviled eggs and brussel sprouts. But all I cared about were the mashed potatoes!

Thank you mommy for making such a yummy meal for all of us. And I've very thankful to have my mommy, daddy, gramps, grandma, papaw, grandma and all of my uncles and friends at daycare!
