Mastering Michelangelo

For my birthday mommy let me do some finger painting. She said that we're going to start a tradition where I get to paint each year on my birthday. And then when I'm all grown up I can have book made of all my artwork from growing up. Ok mommy I'm ready to begin.

Mommy put the paint down and I was all over it like white on rice. At first I thought I should try some out and see how it tasted but mommy said no. Oh well its still tons of fun.

Sumo Paint Baby! Agghhh!

Excuse me, masterpiece in progress here.

See the technique is very hard to master and only professionals like myself can attempt it. A little wisp here and foosh foosh.

Wuzzz up?

What do you mean there's no more red! I need red, how am I supposed to work in conditions like this. I am an artist and an artist needs what an artist needs.

Stop! That's it, they are finissimo. My work here is done.

My pieces will be available for viewing shortly. Please contact my mommy for first showing tickets.

Now where is my bath?

Mommy said I was too messy to even step inside the house. So I got to be hosed off outside with the garden hose. I thought this was so funny and kept giggling and squealing. I might just have to get messy like this again.

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

It's my birthday! I'm exactly 1 year old today. I'm so excited mommy is staying home with me today. We're going to have so much fun. I can't wait to see what she has in store for me today.

Fun, Food & Fireworks

Happy Fourth of July everybody! Today was so much fun, I only wish daddy could have been here with us, but I know he was enjoying hanging out with papaw so I can't blame him. Mommy and I got up super early 'cause we had a busy day plus I couldn't wait to get over to Gramps and Grandma's house. When we got there grandma and I went outside to play. We were on a mission - we were bird watching!

Look grandma - there's a bird! I'm such a big boy now that I can say bird and point. Grandma doesn't know what she started. I want to go outside and look for birds all the time now. I learned that there's a bird on the fridge and a bird on one of grandma's shelves. I like to point them all out.

While we were outside looking for birds we went on a little walk and guess what I found? I found a big slimy worm! It was so cool.

I just had to get a closer look and pick it up. It was slimy and felt funny on my hand. It wiggled and squirmed every time I touched it.

I tried to see what it tasted like but mommy wouldn't let me. Hadn't she ever heard of the book "How to eat worms"?

After our walk I was hungry and grandma made some yummy guacamole - I loved it. I had it all over my face and arms and legs. Mommy was laughing so hard she didn't get a picture. I was so messy that I had to get washed off in the sink. I think I like this though - it's fun 'cause I get to run my hands through the faucet. I think I'll get messy like this every time.

After lunch we went out back to swing and play with grandma's puppy Taylor. While we were out there grandma had the great idea to turn the sprinkler on. Oh boy she's a fun genius!

But being the mischevious little boy I am I was interested in finding what else was going on in the yard. Grandma said I'm already in my "terrible twos", whatever those are and I'm not even one yet. I can't help it if I like to figure things out and how they work. The world is an interesting place and there are lots of things for me to learn.

Before I knew it it was bedtime and I went to sleep 'cause I was tired after my exciting day. But mommy woke me up and said it was time for the fireworks. I didn't know what was going on so I went back to sleep while we drove.

But when we got to the park I had to wake up, there were so many people! And this little girl had these glowing things, I was very intrigued. She was nice and gave me one to play with. I thought it was so neat! Thank goodness mommy brought a snack though 'cause I got hungry.

Then the show started, I couldn't believe my eyes! They were the prettiest things I'd ever seen, and very interesting. How come they blow up in the sky, and how do they get up there? They're just amazing.

After the fireworks show was over we went home, but I wasn't sure it was all over with. I kept searching the sky for more. I hope I get to see some more. I sure wish daddy had seen them, they were so cool I know he would have loved them! But mommy says she's sure daddy saw some too, I hope so.

4th of July Parade

Today we had a Fourth of July parade at daycare. Everybody worked really hard this week to make decorations and flags. This was gonna be a big event!. Look here's the banner that we all had a hand in, hehe pun intended.

Mommy let me bring my new wagon so that a couple of my friends and I could ride in it instead of having to be pushed in our strollers. We were the only ones that had a real live float, everybody else had to walk or was in a silly stroller.

I was a little upset that they gave me this squishy block, where was my flag or confetti?

Bye mommy, are you coming with us?

After the parade route we all lined up and said the Pledge of Allegiance. I don't know the words yet but I pretended and I made sure to sit up straight and be very serious.

After the parade and pledge it was time to go inside, thank goodness 'cause boy it sure was getting hot out there. Plus it was snack time and I was hungry! Mommy surprised us all and brought cupcakes for my birthday! I was so excited I just couldn't wait. Mommy's camera fritzed out on her and she couldn't get it to take any pictures though. Luckily Ms. Tish had hers and took lots. Ms Tish said she'd email them to mommy so as soon as mommy gets them I'll make sure to show y'all. I loved that cupcake, I had icing all over my face. It was soooooo yummy!

Prayers for Papaw

Mommy and daddy are very sad, I asked them why they were sad and mommy said my papaw is very sick. Mommy says his heart doesn't feel good and needs medicine . Mommy also said papaw's doctor is going to do surgery on him. I asked her if it was like my ear surgery and she said it was but much longer. Daddy said he was scared so I think I should be scared too, it must be really different than my surgery because I wasn't scared at all. Daddy 's worried about the surgery because papaw has had it once before and now its more dangerous. Mommy says we just have to keep papaw in our prayers and be strong for him . Ok so you babies , big girls and big boys like me please tell all the angels and God to please take care of my papaw.

Papaw is my buddy and he's got to get all better so he can teach me how to throw a knuckle ball and a curve ball like he said he would. I've got alot of t-ball games that he's got to see. And he's got to show me how to catch my first fish. So everybody pray for my papaw, and papaw if you're reading this you'd better do what the doctor says and take good care of yourself. You've seen my mad face and you don't want to make me mad now!

Raincheck!

Boooooo the rain and crazy lightening show ruined our evening plans. I was supposed to go to my first baseball game ever and I was very excited. I wanted to see all the celebrities like Michael Irvin from the Dallas Cowboys and Mike Modono from the Dallas Stars.

Instead I got to watch a crazy lightening show though. I was a little scared too because it was very noisy. Hopefully I'll get to go see a baseball game that doesn't get rained out soon.
